A pallet dimensioning system that is excellent at measuring protrusions, freight overhang, freight placement, and tilt within pallet loads is the Cubiscan Contour-AKL. It features two laser-based sensors that look down on the freight and another sensor that looks over the pallet. The location of the freight in respect to the pallet can be determined with an optional third laser sensor. The CS Contour-AKL may determine whether the freight is leaning outside of a designated parameter, whether the pallet is broken, or whether the freight was not loaded correctly based on that information. When employing AGVs (automated guided vehicles) to move, stack, and store pallets inside your warehouse or inside a truck, that information and insight is essential.
